Who is this for?
Louise provides online neurodiversity coaching for 16-year-olds and over. This is aimed at autistic clients and those with ADHD, with or without a formal diagnosis. Clients include employees and job seekers, some of whom are funded by Access to Work. They also include students and those who wish to focus on broader life challenges. Issues which may be addressed include the following:
- Work and career
- Studying
- Home life
- Physical and mental wellbeing
- Independent living skills
- Relationships and social life
- Communication skills
- Hobbies and interests
- Executive skills such as task initiation
What is involved?
- Coaching generally takes place in blocks of six weekly or fortnightly sessions of 55 minutes using video conferencing.
- An initial video call is held to establish if there is a good match between Louise and the client.
- Some questionnaires are completed. Further information is gathered during the first session to explore strengths, challenges, goals, and appropriate interventions.
- Interventions are individualised and negotiated. They may include psychoeducation, learning executive function strategies, skill development, the opportunity to discuss concerns, and cognitive behavioural techniques.
- Clients record key points during sessions and share these with Louise afterwards.
- Progress is reviewed each session, adaptations are made, and more skills and strategies are introduced.
- The final session involves reviewing progress and establishing how to maintain and continue this.
